Meet the Artist

Thank you so much for taking the time to consider Dawn Rocks Photography. My name is Dawn Hindman-Rocks and I am a maternity, newborn and baby photographer and the woman behind the camera. Photographing motherhood and babies is an amazing and rewarding job. Newborns are my passion and I consider myself blessed to be around these little miracles so much. I am also a mother of 2 teens, a toddler and wife to my awesome husband who is actively serving in the military. 

I have been photographing growing families since 2013 and specializing in maternity through the first year shortly after.  I am also a UW Husky Alumni and graduated with my BS in Computer Science and Systems and have many years of experience in Real Estate and Property Management. It was on summer break following 5 long years of college that I started studying newborn photography and fell in love. 

I have since studied and learned newborn posing and safety from some of the best newborn photographers and mentors in the world in person and online including Kelly Brown with Little Pieces Photography, Rachel Vanoven, Ana Brandt, Ali Peck with Glow Portraits and Amy McDaniel with Dewdrops Photography. I believe continuously investing in my education is important to grow as a professional photographer and as a person.  

I truly love getting to know my clients and their sweet babies and documenting their growing families. Not only capturing these precious moments, but putting it into photographic art that not only will you cherish but to pass down to the generations to come. It is my hope that my clients come to my studio or their session feeling comfortable and at home.
